Joint Health - prevent and treat arthritis; rheumatic and osteo as well as prevent or treat pain and stiffness
Many people suffer from sore joints, myself included, on occasion.
Sore backs, hips, knees, shoulders, elbows and wrists seem to be the most common.
Joint pain and dysfunction can be caused by local issues in the joint itself, such as lack of or thickness of synovial fluid. (1)
Rx (1) drink more! Being dehydrated raises inflammation in the body and will impair generous production of lubricating synovial fluid within the joints, believe it!
The cartilage in the joint may be of poor quality; rough and perhaps too thin, causing discomfort and limits in functionality. Cartilage has a very high collagen content, so taking collagen and or gelatin as a supplement is often helpful. Vitamin C is essential for the body's own collagen manufacture and repair, so be generous with it. (2)
Rx (2) vitamin C. I take 2000 to 4000mg per day. I read several books on the topic of vitamin C, each with hundreds of references, and am thoroughly convinced as was multiple Nobel prize winner Linus Pauling that 2000 or more mg is essential for human good health. There is some good recent information on vitamin C by Toronto's own Dr Gifford-Jones (Kenneth Walker) or Dr Klein, ND.
Joints are supported by and moved by muscles and muscular imbalance often manifests as joint pain.
Let me repeat and rephrase that; Muscular problems often cause joint pain, so as an example a friend of mine who was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome (severe wrist pain and weakness numbness in the hand and arm) was actually fully recovered by releasing her underlying muscular problems with 5 professional massages.
Rx (3) see an RMT or Osteopath - the ones I go to are listed in my Anthony + Friends page
To be more explicit; the surgeon/ specialist she was referred to said that she MUST have wrist surgery or her condition could progress to paralysis. Luckily she got a second holistic opinion and was full on cured after 5 professional RMT administered deep tissue massages. No surgery, thank you. In fact the surgery would have been of very limited use because her real root problem was actually around the cervical spine/ upper back muscles which were impinging on her brachial nerves.

Turmeric is a herb I have been cooking with for decades, and Ayurveda has been prescribing it for joint health for millenia.
It is an awesome antioxidant, brain and joint supporting healthy herb, that I cook with generously all the time. For those who don't cook or want pill popping convenience, there are a plethora of turmeric/ curcumin based supplements on the market and even juices which include it. Curcuminoids are some of the active components within the herb.
I buy organic turmeric in bulk, cheap, at Noah's 322 Bloor West, and sprinkle a good 1/2 to 1+ 1/2 teaspoons into meats poultry or veggies that I am cooking, depending on the quantity and other spices I'm using. If I am cooking veggies with it, I add some type of oil to help the absorption of the active components within the turmeric, which are largely fat soluble.
Collagen is the protein that your joints are mostly made of; the cartilage, the ligaments that hold the joints together helping them articulate well, and the tendons which connect your muscles to or across the joints creating movement. So the above mentioned vitamin C supports your body's production and maintenance of joint tissues, as does likely ingesting a good source of collagen, like bone soup, and perhaps collagen and gelatin supplements.
MSM also supports connective tissue and in my experience 2000 + mg daily of MSM has proven very helpful both for pain and healing of joint issues and palso soft tissue injuries. I personally take MSM quite often as a preventive to support strong connective tissue. It is also a wonderful detox aid, providing a reliable source of sulfur to the liver, for phase II detox via sulfation. Practically speaking, MSM and other sources of sulfur like cysteine, N-acetyl cysteine, methionine and alpha lipoic acid donate a sulfur to the liver to be added to a heavy metal or other toxin and then excreted via the gall duct into the intestines. Adding MSM and or alpha lipoic acid will help lower levels of heavy metals and other toxins in the body. I use the MSM by Organika in powder form; good product, good price. Garlic and onions are other good sources of healthy sulfur compounds.
I have heard mixed reviews about glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate (gls and cs respectively). Some report much improvement in pain and mobility while others report no effect. They are certainly harmless and if one is inclined to give them a try, they can be a healthy alternative to pain medications.
There are some interesting joint support products which combine MSM, GLS, and CS and often helpful herbs such as turmeric and frankincense (also called boswellia).

Pain killers are really killer. Over the counter and prescription pain killers are incredibly toxic to the entire body especially the liver and kidneys. Kiddie versions of pain killers directly cause autism according to some very convincing evidence I have examined. If they are toxic to adults, imagine how terrible they are to a more vulnerable child or infant. Homeopathic products for infants and children are plentiful and can be found in your local health food store. Fevers are often very easily brought down by a tepid bath. Consult a Naturopath for advice on the care of your precious infant or child. I would never take a pain killer of any kind, and strongly oppose their use.
As for joint pain, natural products mentioned above often reduce pain, sometimes quickly.
Just because your advil, tylenol or similar toxins are sold freely without a prescription does not mean they aren't deadly. In fact, OTC pain killers are a leading cause of liver failure leading to transplant or death. Prescription pain killers are often even worse.
If pain is severe, discuss natural based pain killers with your doctor, such as Maranol (derived from Cannabis) or some other variant of medical marijuana.

Boron- wonder mineral?
Boron is essential for many aspects of our health, including bone and joint health. Let me share the opinion of a teacher of soil science, chemistry and agricultural botany Rex Newnham, Ph.D., D.O., N.D.who realised his arthritis was the result of soil deficiency, specifically in boron.
Newnham said, “I looked into the effect of boron and 45–60 grams was a dangerous dose. It has about the same toxicity as sodium chloride. So I took less than one thousandth of this dangerous dose, namely 30 mg of sodium tetraborate. In three weeks all pain, swelling and stiffness had gone. I was cured with no side effects”. Sodium tetraborate by the way is actually Borax. yes, the cleaning agent. Trying to ,measure out such a tiny dose is difficult, as it would be about 1/100 of a teaspoon. Some people have reported good results with more, say 1/8 teaspoon, but it may be safest to just purchase 3mg tablets of Boron and take about 1 or 2 per day for a bit and see if it helps. Trophic makes one, last I checked. Keep in mind that the stated dose of 30mg of Borax corresponds to just under 3mg of elemental Boron, which is the dose provided in the Trophic product.

Sodium chlorite/ Chlorine dioxide Miracle Cure for Arthritis?
I have been researching cures, both allopathic/ medical and holistic/ alternative for decades. I look at anything that grabs my attention, and let me tell you, NaClO2/ ClO2 certainly has my attention. Those are the chemical symbols for Sodium chlorite and Chlorine dioxide.
Not to be confused with sodium chloride (NaCl) which is just salt. Nor sodium hypochlorite which is NaOCl (common bleach).
Sodium chlorite has 2 oxygen molecules (Na ClO2) whereas sodium hypochlorite has only one (NaOCl).
What happens when you add a citric acid solution (or even lime juice, a rich source of citric acid) to sodium chlorite is that you cause a chemical reaction, liberating chlorine dioxide (ClO2). Smells like a super strong bleach after the reaction. I do it in a glass dropper bottle, sealed, to contain the CLO2 gas until the three minute mark which is when Jim Humble prescribes to drink it.
I read the book on this stuff by Jim Humble on the topic and he seems to be super legitimate in his desire to help people. He constantly mentions buying the base materials
(sodium chlorite and citric acid) from sources other than him. So if he's trying to pull a profit I don't possibly see how.
The old story about the FDA (in the USA) pulling it off the market and Health Canada following suit is an old, oft-repeated story. Think of DMSO (which after decades off the shelf is now back on, at least in Canada). Ditto for melatonin, arginine, tryptophan and many other harmless and very useful substances.
Am I insinuating that sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide and citric acid are safe and effective for some health concerns?
I will leave that up to you. I will relate that Jim Humble's book is full of references to cured malaria cases in Africa where he spent much time complete with copies of Doctor's letters confirming the cures.
Fine and dandy you say for malaria, but what about arthritis? Let me reprint a testimonial from the website mmstestimonials.is>>>>

"Had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 30 years. Tried allopathic, dietary, massage, Ayurvedic, nutritional, cleanses, homeopathic, magnetics, Chinese, herbal, yoga, exercise, TENS, etc, etc. Saw over two dozen health professionals. Even had 18 mercury fillings removed. Some things helped a little, some things were outlawed by the FDA. Through prayer I was guided to take MMS. I tried 3 drops activated MMS every hour with 3 drops DMSO added after 3 minutes for 2 weeks about 2 months ago. Finally pain is gone, deformities of elbows, fingers and wrists are almost gone and still reducing in size. Only an agent of darkness would keep this cheap, safe, effective solution from the poor suffering people. Beware. You and your family will surely need and be helped by MMS in future. Thank you. Good luck and God bless you." Marilyn S. United States
Today as I write this (March 14th, 2018) I am on day 18 of consuming a version of MMS (miracle mineral solution, which is sodium chlorite) in much higher doses than Jim Humble recommended starting with, though he does acknowledge some people have had great results with higher doses to start. I feel like I can write about it because I have personally tried it and while my health is pretty great, thank God, I have noticed that my arthritis in both thumbs is better. My case was mild, but still, better is better. I didn't take it all the 18 days; probably missed about 3, taking my old standby, hydrogen peroxide instead. I thought the peroxide was hard to take; until I tried the chlorite; yuck!
In this day and age of chemtrails and other sources of questionable biological experimentation, taking a broad spectrum non toxic pathogen killer seems like a good idea. The non toxic part is my personal conclusion, having studied the chemical creation and breakdown products of NaClO2 (sodium chlorite), citric acid, and ClO2 (chlorine dioxide).
UPDATE it's April 21, 2018 and I only take the MMS sporadically, to maintain the benefits. Maintenance dosing is smaller (thank God) than initial killer doses. I have, a few times taken hydrogen peroxide drops a few minutes after or before the chlorite acid combo. It would be compatible, since they're both heavy oxidisers.
By the way to get a free copy of Jim Humble's book (God bless that man) go to https://archive.org/details/Understanding_MMS_Jim_Humble
So if Health Canada and the FDA have banned the sale of NaClO2 solutions for sale for consumption, how can you get some? There's probably some available on the net. I did find a few (but not all) water purification drops sold to hikers/ campers to consist of sodium chlorite and citric acid "activator" in a lower dose and far more expensive than they need to be, considering how little it costs for the raw materials. Perhaps some enterprising folks can get their hands on powdered Na ClO2 and make their own solution. Citric acid in powder form is readily available in health stores and even some bulk stores.
Although NaClO2 is (or was) often sold in plastic bottles, I prefer to use glass.
Caveat; Jim Humble mentions that vitamin C detoxes ClO2 fairly quickly and limits it's effectiveness greatly, therefore strongly recommends NOT taking vitamin C anywhere near the time that one ingests the chlorite. Hence my mentioning lime juice above, since lime juice has much less vitamin C than lemon juice. Even though early British sailors were called "limeys", back in the day lime and lemon were somewhat interchangeable words and so if actual limes were used rather than lemons, the anti scurvy affects weren't very good at all.
I use a pure citric acid solution, which has no vitamin C at all. Citric acid is a 3 carbon acid, whereas vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a 6 carbon acid. They are very different. Citric acid has no anti scurvy effect at all, nor any appreciable detox effects. Vitamin C on the other hand is perhaps the closest thing we have to a universal detox. I take it daily with MSM, another multi use detox (and connective tissue support). I take my C many hours after or before chlorite. Update; 2019 now using malic acid instead of citric. Feel sbetter in my tummy and has it's own unique health benefits. I got mine n bulk at Herbie's herbs, here in Toronto.
